Continue StudyingIn order to continue your studies you have to pay the tuition fee within the admission period.
How do you continue your degree programme?
You have to pay the tuition fee in the admission period. It is important to pay the whole prescribed tuition fee (tuition fee and Students’ Union fee). A payment by instalments is not possible.
Only when the University of Vienna is informed of the payment and it is visible in the database, will your degree programme be continued.
What do you have to do if you study at more than one Austrian university?
If you are admitted to degree programmes at more than one university, you have to inform each university of the continuation of your studies. This is done automatically only at the university where you pay the fee.
No matter how many universities in Austria you are admitted to, you have to pay the tuition fee only once every semester.
If you haven't paid the tuition fee at the University of Vienna you can continue your studies via internet using the matriculation number and your unet-password. Or you announce the continuation of the degree programme at the Admissions Office.
If the admission period ends sooner at one university than at the other you have to pay the fee at the university with the shorter admission period to achieve the continuation (of course you have to inform the university where you did not pay the fee actively of the wish to continue the studies also there)
What happens after the continuation?
You can check the status of your payment on your administrative student account. As soon as the University of Vienna is informed of the payment, you can make alterations (e.g. change your degree programme) at the Admissions Office and the confirmation of registration (Studienbestätigung), admission record (Studienblatt) and semester label (Semesteretikett), the payment bill for the coming semester can be sent to you.
If you do not receive the documents within two weeks after you the payment of the tuition fee please contact the Admissions Office.
